Director Junior Activities Clint Joseph announced on the club's Facebook Sunday December 6 would be the first session for the under nine to 14 age groups with more information to be released shortly.
The under eights is still to be confirmed once restrictions allow further numbers. The club is calling for registrations for the age group to gauge numbers as the group will be capped at the first 60.
The nippers program will be operating under strict COVID-19 restrictions and if they do not allow a start on its proposed date they will push back this date one month and reassess.
Listen to this week's The Main Break podcast with Tri Club president Ian Barnes:
Joseph said the club would be sticking closely to Lifesaving Victoria's COVID-safe plan.
"We are heavily restricted in group sizes, the number of groups, allowable beach areas and session times therefore we can only offer the same number of places as per last year," he said in the statement.
Priority will be given to returning members and payment of invoices will not be required until sessions commence.
It will be the first time the program returns since the coronavirus pandemic started in early 2020.
The club confirmed at its AGM in May its numbers were as strong as ever with over 800 members registered and 300 nippers involved last season.
