Sheehan said Rantall had locked himself in to get drafted in November but he declined to dwell on what number he might he go at.
"That's up to the 18 clubs," he told The Standard on Friday after Rantall's win in the 2km time-trial.
He added the clubs were all looking for different types of players and rated them differently.
"It's really hard to call," he said.
But he said Rantall's performance at the combine might have clubs regrade him.
He said Rantall may go up a number of spots on clubs' lists.

Rantall won the 2km time-trial, smashing the record by 14 seconds.
Sheehan said he was put in the best field of runners.
The youngster also finished equal first for the Yo-Yo running test on Thursday.
Sheehan said the industry only used the 'pick me statement' term from time to time.
He said it was used when Geelong's Gryan Miers kicked sevens goals in the 2017 TAC Cup grand final.
Sheehan said Rantall showed he had an elite running capacity and sharp competitive edge during the time-trial.
"That's what the clubs love to see," he said.
The talent ambassador said Rantall was challenged in the exciting race.
"It was a great moment, the last two laps," he said.
Sheehan said Hawthorn father-son prospect Finn Maginness attempted to pass Rantall.
"He (Maginness) got up to the outside and then Rantall kicked again," he said.
Sheehan said the clubs would have loved that the south-west youngster responded to that challenge.
Rantall went on to the win the thrilling time-trial by just one second, recording a time of 5.50.
Sheehan said Rantall, who played basketball for Australia as a junior, had displayed an elite ball-winning ability and creativity through the midfield during the season.
"He's pretty poised like most of the basketballers are," he said.
