This person is under the management of Barwon Public Health Unit, who will also be undertaking contact tracing to identify any close contacts and any exposure sites.
At this time here have been no exposure sites identified in the Glenelg Shire region.
"We urge any community members to get tested at the first sign of symptoms and follow the instructions to isolate accordingly," Portland District Health acting chief executive Karena Prevett said.
Viral fragments detected along Great Ocean Road
COVID-19 viral fragments have been detected in wastewater samples taken from the following regional areas:
- Lorne - unexpected detection for the period from 31 October - 3 November
- Aireys Inlet - repeated unexpected detections for the period from 24 October - 1 November
- Apollo Bay - unexpected detection for the period 26 October - 1 November.
The detections could be an undiscovered new case or cases or could be the result of one or more people in these areas who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.
Anyone who lives in, works in or has visited the areas above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.
Four COVID-19 cases identified in Colac overnight
Four new COVID-19 cases have been identified in the Colac-Otway Shire overnight.
It brings active cases in the shire to five.
Encouragingly no new cases were identified in Warrnambool, Moyne, Corangamite or Glenelg overnight.
Total active cases in those four municipalities is nine:
- Two active cases in Warrnambool in one household
- Zero active cases in Moyne
- Four active cases in Corangamite in one household
- Three active cases in Glenelg in two households, all linked

The COVID testing clinic at Merri Street is open until 4pm. This clinic is only available via booking by calling 5563 1666 and selecting option five.
The Leura Oval Camperdown testing clinic is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
The Camperdown vaccination centre will have walk-in Pfizer appointments available from today.
The Portland District Health testing clinic is open this week Wednesday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 12.30pm.
To obtain a drive through time you must phone 5521 0387 before arriving.
Vaccinations are available this Friday November 5 and Saturday November 6 for Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca walk-ins.
Victoria recorded 1343 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in the 24 hours to midnight last night.
The state now has 82 per cent of its population aged 12 years and older fully vaccinated.
