No new cases have been recorded in Warrnambool, Corangamite or Moyne overnight, as public health teams monitor two new cases in Glenelg Shire.
There are now nine active cases in the region across the four municipalities:
- Two active cases in Warrnambool in one household
- Zero active cases in Moyne
- Four active cases in Corangamite in one household (one person has recovered from COVID-19)
- Three active cases in Glenelg
Importantly, there have been no new local exposure sites listed overnight.
The COVID-19 testing clinic at Merri Street is open from 8am to 4pm. This clinic is only available via booking. To make an appointment please call 5563 1666 and press option five.
The Leura Oval Camperdown testing clinic is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Camperdown Vaccination Centre will have walk-in Pfizer appointments available from Friday.
Viral fragments detected along Great Ocean Road
COVID-19 viral fragments have been detected in wastewater samples taken from:
- Aireys Inlet - repeated unexpected detections for the period from 24 October - 1 November
- Apollo Bay - unexpected detection for the period 26 October - 1 November.
The detections could be an undiscovered new case or cases or could be the result of one or more people in these areas who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.
Anyone who lives in, works in or has visited the areas above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.
Overnight there were 1247 new COVID-19 cases in Victoria. Nine Victorians passed away with COVID-19.
There are now 17,674 active cases in the state.
There are 660 COVID-19 cases in hospital in Victoria. 114 of those cases are in intensive care, with 78 cases on a ventilator.
Of the cases in hospital yesterday, 84 per cent were not fully vaccinated. Of the cases in intensive care, 95 per cent were not fully vaccinated.
There are currently more than 74,900 active primary close contacts in isolation in Victoria.
Two new COVID-19 cases recorded in Portland overnight
Earlier, 10am: There have been two new COVID-19 cases identified in Portland overnight.
Encouragingly, no new exposure sites have been listed overnight, Portland District Health said Thursday morning.
These people are under the management of the infectious disease department and public health teams, who will also be undertaking contact tracing to ascertain any close contacts and any exposure sites.
PDH will keep the community informed of any further information received on this page.
It comes after one new COVID-19 case was identified in Warrnambool yesterday.
Community members are urged to get tested at the first sign of symptoms and follow the instructions to isolate accordingly.
