Confusion over the city's rubbish and recycling bins has prompted a call from Warrnambool councillors to ensure residents know when they are being collected.
The new bins are in the process of being rolled out across the city, but Cr Angie Paspaliaris said it appeared many were unaware of the routine.
Cr Paspaliaris used to newly returned general business to raise the issue at last week's ordinary council meeting.
While general business made its long-awaited return to council meeting last month, no councillor chose to make use of it despite endless calls for it to be reinstate after a six-year absence.
Cr Richard Ziegeler said a number of areas still didn't have their new glass bins and the old rubbish bins were still to be collected.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He said the bin rollout was a favourite topic of discussion on what he dubbed "anti-social media".
Cr Ziegeler said it was incumbent on the council to reinforce the advertisement of which bins are to go out and when.
"They will get into the habit," he said.
Cr Paspaliaris said some people were unaware of the waste removal routine of rotation, and she encouraged people to access the council's website to access the waste collection schedule.
She said the website allowed a resident to put in their address, and a date and type of bin to be collected would come up.
"Just on my morning walk I observed that there a whole host of households probably getting it wrong," she said.
"I'd like just like like to reiterate to people that there is an option to confirm each week.
"It's probably just important to get into the routine and double checking so people don't miss out."
