Atwell, who plays half-back, was named second best for his team on Saturday.
Peters said Cocks unfortunately strained his hamstring in the third quarter of the round eight clash.
The coach also had praise for young full-forward, Jordi Withers, who kicked two goals, taking his season tally to 24.
"He stood up pretty well against a bigger opponent down forward," Peters said of the former Portland Tiger.
The group's ability to spread from contests was another aspect that pleased the coach.
Tyrendarra is looking to go one better after falling to Heywood in the 2019 grand final.
Peters feels top-of-the-table Dartmoor is still the team to beat in a hotly-contested season.
"We could have been undefeated if we played a four-quarter-effort against Dartmoor but they're a very good, well-drilled side," he said.
Tyrendarra lost to the Giants by 20 points in round four.
The third-year coach said the club had retained three-quarters of its list and recruited handy players for 2021.
"We've got a lot of depth in our youth and we've picked up a couple of experienced players in the (Patrick and Thomas) Haylock twins," Peters said.
The coach added Charlie Woodford, who has had Hampden league experience, had returned to the club.
Peters said getting the relatively young group to gel would continue to be a focus in the second half of the season.
Improving accuracy in front of goal will also be on the agenda after Tyrendarra scored 14 points on the weekend.
