Skip Arthur Finch said the group was determined to make amends for last year.
"I think our experience last year of playing in a (WDBD) grand final and losing just made us really want to get there this year and perhaps go one further," he said.
He said playing Coleraine and Colac was similar to playing WDBD midweek teams.
Finch added Timboon players would look to enter tournaments in the next month to prepare for the state championships - the final 16.
