The Pelicans will host the Goats at Camperdown's Frederick Street Oval in division one.
"Obviously Terang knocked us out of finals last year," Fitzgerald said.
"So that's in the back of the mind."

While neither side made the one-day finals last year, Terang's round 18 victory over the Pelicans helped prevent Bookaar from progressing to the business end of the season.
Fitzgerald has respect for this weekend's opposition.
"They've had a good start to the year, I think they've won two," he said.
"They're always hard to play against."
The skipper confirmed his side would go into the clash without opening batsman and all-rounder Shaun Moloney.
But Fitzgerald said he was excited to promote his younger brother Stephen who made 45 in division three last weekend.
"He's been making a lot of runs consistently in the lower divisions," he said.
The captain added his team would go into the clash with confidence after victory against Heytesbury Rebels in the twenty20 cup on Thursday night.
Opener Eddie Lucas set up the win with a handy 60.
Pomborneit defeated Simpson while Woorndoo accounted for Camperdown in the other Thursday night twenty20 encounters.
