Cann told the gathered on-lookers at the post-match presentation of his plans after his side claimed a courageous Warrnambool and District Cricket Association grand final victory over Allansford.
He confirmed the side's leader had dislocated her knee and was transported to hospital after suffering the injury midway through the first innings of the decider at Mack Oval on Sunday.
"Ella chucked her keeping gear on after 10 overs and unfortunately the first ball after drinks she took a ball that came in from the outfield and twisted her knee and dislocated it," Cann said.
"She was on the pitch for quite a while and my girls were able to weather that storm and come away with the win.
"It (the injury) flattened both teams and we were saying there hasn't been an incident all year and then on grand final day one of our girls dislocates their knee.
"It took the wind out of both team's sails and put everything back into perspective but what a game of cricket and both teams should be very happy with themselves."
