Gold and Blue will play a one-dayer at Reid Oval on Friday to decide the champion.
Blue's Theo Opperman found his rhythm on Thursday with a whopping 109 against Hamilton.
Many of his runs came after Blue surpassed Hamilton's 111 but he is nonetheless in good touch ahead of the decider.
Gold's Fletcher Cozens is having a country week to remember.
The West Warrnambool product continued his outstanding tournament with 90 against Mount Gambier on Thursday in a one-dayer.
The former Hawkesdale cricketer top-scored and helped his side to 7/236 at Avery's Paddock in Port Fairy.
Cozens said the 159-run partnership he built with fellow West Warrnambool player Joe Nyikos (67) was important.
"We just had to see off the opening bowlers, they were bowling pretty handy," he said.
"Then when we got a bad ball we put it away and kept out the good balls.
"And we kept rotating the strike."
Cozens, who switched from Hawkesdale to West Warrnambool for this summer, said he was learning plenty at Davidson Oval.
"It's been different going into town and playing on turf obviously," he said.
"And not playing on hard wickets in Grassmere (Cricket Association).
"I'm enjoying it so far.
"I'm learning heaps off the older and more experienced players."

Warrnambool White suffered a batting collapse against Portland at Walter Oval.
Captain Jack Noonan (16) and Tom Knight (18) tried to steady the ship in the middle-order but the side could only manage 72.
Portland's Lachie Warburton continued his strong form with 85 not out as his side reeled in White's total.
