The former Allansford coach, captain of Victoria Country, has helped the Big V to a commanding position at the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Toowoomba.
Boyd has nine wickets from six matches, while Victoria was locked in equal first with Queensland as The Standard went to print last night.
Victoria's only defeat of the tournament came at the hands of Queensland on Friday.
Russells Creek skipper Cam Williams - Victoria Country's first choice wicketkeeper - has endured up-and-down form with the bat.

His Brierly-Christ Church counterpart, Matthew Love, has also struggled to reach his damaging best.
Love has batted three times - his highest score 10 - and is averaging five for the tournament.
The Warrnambool and District Cricket Association trio will play four more matches, against Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia and New South Wales.
The tournament finishes on Saturday.
