The 36-year-old, who was playing in his first Open since 2015, finished the tournament seven-under par after firing an even-71 final round at The Australian Golf Club on Sunday.
Leishman's final round included three birdies but also a double bogey and a bogey to keep his score the same as he started the day.

The Warrnambool golf product finished eight shots behind Australian Open champion and countryman Matt Jones, who finished at 15-under to wrap up an impressive tournament.
South African Louis Oosthuizen was one shot back in second while Leishman, who came within three shots of the leaders, tied for 10th with fellow Australians Jamie Arnold and Deyen Lawson.
Leishman started the tournament on Thursday with a two-under round of 69 before backing it up with a four-under 67 on Friday.
After Saturday's third round he had dropped another shot from his card to be well in contention for the victory heading into the final day.
