Maureen Drennan, from Dennington Bowls Club, is playing mixed pairs with Rex Harris and ladies pairs with Sheridan Barling.
"It's a great tournament and one of the things people enjoy most is that it's for grass-roots players," she said.
"You don't have to be a champion, you just come and enjoy yourself."
Drennan said there were also some highly-skilled bowlers competing at the event which runs from November 15-22.

"There are fantastic bowlers here that bowl at the top-level but it's not known as a high-level competition," she said.
Drennan said the increasingly popular event was running for an extra day this year.
She said the tournament had attracted about 2000 entries.
"It's the biggest one (yet) and it's just keeps growing every year," she said.
Drennan added the tournament attracted players from all over Australia and there were even bowlers from Hong Kong.
She said it was a great social tournament.
"You get to meet a lot of new people," she said.
"You play against a lot of bowlers you don't know."
The Dennington bowler said 19 different bowls clubs around Shepparton were hosting tournament matches.
Matches are being played in a number of different towns including Benalla and Euroa.
"And there's everything from grass, to carpet, to synthetic (greens)," Drennan said.
"It's a real test of skills and patience."
