Fifth-ranked Cobden faces second-placed Mortlake at home on Saturday after securing its first victory of the season against Heytesbury Rebels last weekend.
Benallack said it had been a good week at the club after the win.
"It's was definitely really exciting with a couple of young blokes coming up," he said.
"Josh McGlade played his first senior game for the club and took 3-6 off a couple of overs."
Benallack said the 15-year-old got the promotion after bowling well in juniors.

The captain-coach said he was also pleased with James Hallyburton's bowling.
Hallyburton, 17, opened the bowling and took 1-34 from 10 overs.
Benallack added Darcy Meade was important with his 3-21 off five overs.
"We're really pleased with how we bowled," he said.
Cobden kept a strong Rebels team to 113 after making 146.
Benallack said the focus against Mortlake would be batting the full 50 overs after only getting through 45 last week.
"If we can bat 50 overs, we'll give ourselves a chance to get a win," he said.
The 21-year-old leader believes the Mortlake match will be a "chance to see where we're at".
Benallack said he had been trying to keep team morale up despite the inclement weather interrupting matches this season.
The young leader said he was still expecting players to return to the team after they finish harvest.
Benallack said he had been enjoying his cricket after a big football season with Warrnambool and District league outfit Nirranda.
"Yeah I love my cricket and was really excited to get back into it," he said.
