But his loyalty to Russells Creek's cause overrides all.
The Jetty Flat-based club is in Evans' blood.
His father, Eddie, is a 300-game player and Evans grew up watching his dad lead the Creekers' division four side.
Now 20, he's relishing the chance to take the new ball as Creek covers the absence of strike bowler Jimmy Elford.
"We've had a few out so it's been good to take a bit of a bigger role," he told The Standard.
"It's been great to be so young but to be able to be one of our strike bowlers."
Evans - already a two-time premiership player - is full of drive for more success.
Known more for medium-fast bowling, he wants to cement his status as a genuine all-rounder as Creek pursues a third-straight premiership.
"There's a strong connection in the club, we're all like best mates and we're striving for that same thing," Evans said.

The National Tiles employee revealed a fast start was key against Brierly-Christ Church in Saturday's grand final rematch.
The addition of former Greenvale-North Melbourne star Matthew Love has solidified the Bulls' top-order - and Evans said his bowling brigade had its work cut out.
"I'm a bit nervous - it's a very 50-50 game," he said.
"It's very important that we get off to a good start. Our bowlers need to build the pressure early on.
"It's been nice having Pepsi (Matt Petherick), Tim Ryan, and Izzy (Yaddehige) talking about what is happening and how we can improve.
"We're all helping each other strive to be our best."
