The speedy midfielder, who played 112 games and kicked 88 goals in his six seasons with the Brisbane Lions, was traded to the Swans in return for pick 48 which was on-traded to Carlton.
The 24-year-old Terang Mortlake export missed just three games in his first five seasons before playing just five matches in 2019 after falling out of favour and being pushed out of a vastly improved Brisbane side.
Taylor, who pipped Western Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli for the 2014 rising star award, had to bide his time in the Lions' premiership-winning NEAFL side this year.
He averaged 27.8 disposals and 1.3 goals in his 12 NEAFL matches in 2019.

Swans head of football Charlie Gardiner said Taylor would be a handy addition to the club's midfield and forward stocks.
"We're excited to have secured Lewis from Brisbane as we think he has the potential to be a really important player for us for years to come," he said.
"Lewis really burst onto the scene from a young age and showed he has great speed and elite skills that will really complement our side.
"We look forward to Lewis joining Sydney for the start of pre-season and seeing him continue his career in red and white."
Brisbane general manager of football David Noble thanked Taylor for his services.
"Lewis has stuck through some tough times for the Lions over recent years but always continued to produce strong footy," he said.
"We thank him for his loyal service and wish him all the best in his next chapter at Sydney."
Taylor averaged 17.9 disposals, two tackles and 70 fantasy points a game at AFL level across his time at Brisbane.
