Timboon Saints tried and failed in 2007 but 12 years later the Submariners can now say they hold the record for most consecutive grand final victories in the association.
A five-goal-to-nil drubbing of Saints ensured they stamped their name into the history books.
"It's fantastic and I'm so thrilled for them," injured captain Karen Benson, who was on the sidelines for the decider after rupturing her ACL in the qualifying final, said after her side's victory.
The Submariners leader, who is hoping to be fit for next year's push for a six-peat, praised how her side approached the match.
"We kept to our game plan and were quite consistent," she said. "We scored in every quarter and then doubled up in the last quarter. I was really thrilled we stuck to the game plan and all worked together."

It was a good day to be wearing green, with the Pirates securing back-to-back premierships with a 5-2 victory over Buccaneers in the men's final.
The game was won in the second half when the Pirates put two goals to none in the back of the net after starting the quarter at 1-1. It wasn't until an early goal in the fourth term put the game out of reach for the Buccaneers.
"We came in a bit nervous but we got the first goal early and it sort of just flowed from there," playing-coach Matt Stephens said.
Captain Jason McLeod said one aspect of his side's game was the key driver in the victory.
"Defensive pressure," the two-time WDHA premiership-winning player said. "We really put it in on their forwards to really limit their ability with the ball and as a group we positioned ourselves well."
At the other end, best on ground Toby Hoy and Andrew Stephens (two goals) along with Matt Stephens (one) all beat the keeper to get their names on score sheet.
Matt Stephens rated Hoy as one of his side's top players while also mentioning Shane Blignaut.
In the under 16s, the Pirates secured a 5-4 victory over Technique and capping off a top day for the club.
"They played so well and make we proud every week and they really brought it home," ecstatic coach Zara Young said after the match.
Joaquin Wood and Ruby Bennett shared the best on ground honours in the tight victory.
On Friday night the Strikers under 14s walked away with a premiership flag after a nail-biting 1-0 victory over Technique.
