The clever small forward, who is recovering from a calf injury, has missed the past month of football.
Co-coach Shane Threlfall said the Blues want to see if he can get through a game before they bring him back into the senior team.
"It's a hard one because it's a calf and we're not sure if he'll get through," he said.
The Blues mentor said Searle, who has played 11 matches and kicked 43 goals this year, was desperate to get back in the top team.

On Thursday night, Threlfall said Searle would play reserves if he pulled up well from training.
On Friday afternoon he hadn't heard from Searle so he said he assumed "no news is good news".
The Blues' senior side faces Kolora-Noorat in the second semi-final on Saturday.
If they win they go through to the grand final, if they lose they will have to play a preliminary final.
The Blues are coming off a exhilarating qualifying final victory over Merrivale.
Threlfall said there had been a good buzz around the club this week and he looked forward to the final.
"We've just got to play our brand which is strong contested footy and then to get out on the outside once we've got the contested stuff," he said.
Threlfall said the Blues had been working on their attacking and defensive play.
