The South Warrnambool export was named in the best as Country overcame their city counterparts in a 9.10 (64) to 7.9 (51) victory at the MCG on Saturday ahead of the Collingwood and Fremantle AFL clash.
Rantall, who finished with 21 disposals in his debut match for the Victorian representative side, was a strong contributor in the win as Country's midfield overpowered the star-studded Metro on-ball brigade.

Country trailed by one point at the first break before storming away in the second to lead by two goals at half-time and held sway in the third to lead by nine points at the final change.
Metro charged in the final term but Country had the answers to win the quarter and come away with the 13-point victory.
Country's next game is against Allies at UTAS Stadium in Tasmania next Sunday.
