It's how the budding South Warrnambool prospect immerses himself with the senior team.
One day he hopes run out with the Roosters' top side.
It might come sooner rather than later too.
Stevens, 14, is already six-foot tall and tips the scales at 85 kilograms.
The Emmanuel College year eight student has towered above his classmates growing up and is already playing up a level.
He is still eligible for the Hampden league under 14s but plays for South Warrnambool's under 16s each week instead.

Stevens' feats on the football field piqued School Sport Victoria's interest too and he'll run out for Victoria at the School Sport Australia under 15 championships in July. The well-spoken teenager is unsure if his mature frame has helped fast-track his football.
But he is certain working with South Warrnambool's senior team has.
"I do train with the seniors but I think I am a little bit young and still a while away from playing that level but hopefully one day I get to that level," he said.
"I am working on the more defensive side now I have built that fitness base up."
Stevens' off-field role with the Roosters has also developed his football nous.
"I have been doing the stats most weeks to get a bit of an insight," he said.
"You get a good insight into what they (the coaches) think of the game and it especially helps when I am playing juniors."
Stevens - the second oldest of four siblings - doesn't have to look far for inspiration.
Older brother Archie, 16, made his senior debut for South Warrnambool last week.
"It was awesome, it really was good to watch," he said.
"Hopefully I get to that level one day and I am playing with him for a very long time.
"He's got me on fitness. He's one of the fittest at the club already. He's a really hard worker."
