In a first for the region, the South West Emergency Services Capability Forum will bring all the different organisations involved with emergency incidents together to answer questions from the public.
The forum will be run on the Pertobe Road carnival site adjacent to the Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club from 9am to 3pm.
Sue Rondeau, Warrnambool City Council emergency management co-ordinator, said the forum included “a spectacular display” of emergency service vehicles and rescue equipment, alongside opportunities for hands on education.
“There will be CFA trucks, Victoria Police vehicles, boats and other specialist vehicles,” Ms Rondeau said. “The HEMS 4 helicopter will land on the grass next to Lake Pertobe at 10.30am, so we advise people not to leave their cars in the first car park.”
A free BBQ will be provided by the Rotary Club of Warrnambool, with tea and coffee served by the Rapid Relief catering team.
