Meulendyks was involved in the accident after suffering cardiac arrest.
Hamilton Kangaroos’ president John Pepper confirmed Meulendyks was in a stable condition and was “being kept asleep to aid his recovery”.
“We’ll probably know more about his condition on Saturday,” he said.
Meulendyks first signed at Hamilton Kangaroos in late 2013 after a season with South Australian National Football League’s Central Districts. He returned to Melville Oval in late 2017.
