A restricted and maiden hurdle are the first two races on the eight race program.
Terang Racing Club manager Karen Van Kempen said the two jumping races made it a special day for the club.
“We’re really excited,” Van Kempen said.
“It’s just great to have jumps racing back. We’ve started with the two hurdle races and would love to have a steeplechase but that’s up to Racing Victoria and the Australian Jumps Racing Association as they set the jumping program.
“We’ve got everything in readiness for the two jumps races – as far as numbers go we’re pleased with ten in the maiden hurdle but would have liked a couple more in the restricted hurdle.”
Van Kempen said the club is holding discussions with Racing Victoria regarding a fundraising appeal for locals who had been hit by the bushfires.
“There are certain committee members and numerous locals who have been impacted by the fires,” she said.
“We’re talking with Racing Victoria what we can do to help out the local communities. I’m confident we’ll have something in place for our Cup meeting on April 15 to assist the farmers.”
The first race on Friday, is scheduled to start at 12.55pm, with the last set down for 5.15pm.
