About 300 office chairs along with dozens of desks and other equipment will be auctioned in Warrnambool on March 17 to aid The Lookout residential rehabilitation centre appeal.
The office furniture will be sold in different lots and will have wide appeal for local businesses, sporting groups, clubs and individuals.
A rare car sign will also be in the auction at Callaghan Motors, along with desks, partitions, printers, filing cabinets, fridges, tool boxes, air compressors and other items and memorabilia.
The auction will be from 10.30am on Saturday, March 17 at the former Callaghan Motors site in Fairy Street and the event will also include a display of vintage cars and collectables.
WRAD director Geoff Soma said this could well be Warrnambool’s biggest auction of office desks and related items.
“There are a huge number of chairs in various shapes, sizes and colours that will be sold on the day,” Mr Soma said.
“We will be selling some chairs individually and others in small groups, so there will be something for everyone.
Auctioneer Bruce Ludeman is donating his time for the event and items have been donated by Callaghan Motors and other city businesses.
The Lookout fundraising committee is also selling colourful socks as a new initiative and these will be available at the auction.
The event will start at 9am with auction viewing, car displays and collectables and will run until 3pm.
The Lookout residential rehabilitation appeal now stands at $570,000. WRAD has committed $600,000 to the new centre.
The community can continue to support the appeal with 100 collection tins throughout Warrnambool, through the WRAD website at www.wrad.org.au or by donating at the ANZ bank.
