The Terang resident won the club’s A grade title in 2008, 2011-13, 2015 and last year.
He heads into Saturday’s final round in the 72-hole event holding a 28-shot lead over Damian Coolahan in the race for number seven. Beasley’s brother Trevor is a further shot behind in third.
More records could fall in the fourth round with Beasley on track for the best score in the event’s history. After shooting rounds of 70, 73 and 71, he has an unprecedented total of 214, well on track to surpass his previous best winning score of 298 last year.
“We have never seen scores like this in the club’s history,” club spokesman Paul Healey said of Beasley’s efforts.
“No one has ever gone into the final round of the club championships under par after three rounds.”
Healey said the B-grade race was set for an exciting finish, with last year’s runner-up Jason Black leading Neale Grundy by a shot.
“The B-grade will be the most interesting of our three grades, as Jason is hoping to go one step better than last year and win the title,” he said.
“While Neale has been with the club for six months and is going for his first title.”
In C-grade, youngster Riley Scanlon, 14, is on track to claim the title and leads the race for the John Petrusch Memorial for the best nett score across all grades in the championships.
Scanlon has shot rounds of 96, 87, 91 to sit on 274, holding a comfortable lead from Tyler Beasley (291) and Damian Wynd (300) in C grade. Scanlon sits on 190, leading the Beasley brothers Phil (205) and Trevor (207) in the best nett competition.
