Australian Hotels Association (AHA) representative Alex Bourjailie said about 60 people attended the event dubbed Pubs, Pots and Profits at the Cally Hotel in Warrnambool.
“It went fantastically,” Mr Bourjailie said.
“We had a great turnout.
“We cast a wide net and had publicans from as far away as Hamilton and Casterton.”
Mr Bourjailie said the forum focused on “saving a buck and making a buck” at country hotels.
Publicans learnt about online training platforms for staff, menu costings and trends and insights into customer’s preferences.
There was also a panel discussion at the end of the forum with south-west publicans addressing the typical challenges of running a country pub.
