The Member for Western Victoria declared he would contest the 2018 state government election on Friday, but said he was still undecided if he would run in the lower or upper house.
An unsicientific poll, conducted on The Standard’s website garnered 126 votes.
Of the votes, 74 people said he should run in the upper house, while 52 said he should run in the lower house, against Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell.
Mr Purcell said he would consider a change from the upper house to the lower.
“Where I run and how I run and what part of the ticket I am on is undecided,” he said.
Mr Purcell said he would conduct public consultation on where he would seek election.
