Michael Wayne Healey, 45, of Raglan Parade, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to breaching two community corrections orders and was resentenced on his original charges.
Those charges included intentionally causing injury to an ex-partner, trafficking ice, possessing weapons and meth amphetamine, unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and fraudulent use of number plates.
As well as being jailed, he was fined $500.
Magistrate Michael Coghlan said that Healey was placed on a CCO in October 2016 after he gave a former partner a backhander and struck her with a chair, causing injuries to the woman’s fingers, face and a blood lip.
Healey was also found guilty of trafficking ice and released on a CCO.
Mr Coghlan said the order included 100 hours of community work as well as conditions to undertake assessment, treatment and programs.
That order returned to court for a breach after Healey was caught handling stolen goods.
He was fined $700 and put back on the order.
Mr Coghlan said that now - nine months later - Healey was back in court charged again with trafficking ice.
He said the accused man had not done one hour of community work, had 17 unexplained absences and had refused to take part in a men’s behaviour change program.
The magistrate said when the case was last adjourned, on January 15, that Healey then failed to attend an appointment on February 12.
Mr Coghlan said Healey had been fortunate to be placed on a CCO – twice – and he had then ignored that opportunity.
His new charge of trafficking ice was adjourned until a further hearing on May 9.
Healey’s partner and co-accused is expected to plead guilty to dealing ice on April 19.
