The event, which drew a staggering 600,000 people to the city last year, starts at 7pm and will finish at 7am on Sunday.
Neon dogs will frolic atop the State Library, Little Bourke Street will be covered in snow and Federation Square will be draped in a 'liquid sky'.
And for Victorians there is still time to get into Melbourne, park the car and go for a wander. It is sure to be a night not to be missed.
Just make sure you plan your night – whether you’ll park, walk or grab the train or tram.
The event, which has been in Melbourne since 2013, is inspired by the international Nuit Blanche movement which started in Paris. In Victoria it is now also held in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.
Let’s take a look back at past years to see what you’ve missed out on.
