They will run for Darren Weir’s Warrnambool satellite stables.
Lucky Hussler, who won this race in 2016 and had no luck last year, is resuming after an unplaced run in the Sandown Stakes in November while Ozi Choice has won his last three starts with two of those on Melbourne metropolitan tracks.
Weir’s stable foreman Jarrod McLean said he had a slight leaning for Lucky Hussler in the 1400-metre race.
“Under the weight scale Lucky Hussler is in well,” he said.
“I’ve got a soft spot for Lucky Hussler as he’s been such a great horse for the stable.
“It’s the fifth year Lucky Hussler has made the trip for a start on Magic Millions race day – that in itself is a remarkable achievement.
“Ozi Choice runs on the pace which is a real advantage. He’s in the zone and should run well.”
Weir’s Warrnambool satellite stable has a strong presence at Flemington with Burning Front, Nikitas and Howard Be Thy Name among his chances on the nine-race program.
Warrnambool trainer Aaron Purcell’s only runner at Flemington is Lite’n In My Veins.
