Hundreds of people were at the Fletcher Jones garden on Wednesday night for the ‘Light up the Silver Ball’ event. Organiser Julie Eagles said the ball would be lit up every night by four LED projector lights rotating different colours on its facade. She said the reaction from the community had been remarkable with “loads of positive feedback.” “There’s something about it that says Warrnambool,” she said. “It’s a unique part of our skyline and there is a sense of pride.
“The redevelopment of Fletcher Jones links back to its history. Fletcher Jones was all about community.”
Ms Eagles said the crews who had painted the ball and installed the lights deserved a lot of the glory.
