More than 90 people participated in Warrnambool Toyota’s annual charity golf day, raising $8000 towards a campaign to secure a 20-bed residential rehabilitation facility in Warrnambool.
Dealer principal Matthew Burgess said 23 teams of four played at the city’s golf course.
“It was a great day,” he said. “Everyone pays a fee to play and then we have auctions and prizes as well.”
Mr Burgess said The Lookout was a worthy cause.
“It worked out perfectly ,” he said.
“We were looking for a charity at the time The Lookout was launched. It’s a necessity for Warrnambool.”
The Lookout campaign has been ongoing for the past few months.
The community total so far is $550,000.
Western Region Alcohol and Drug Centre’s Geoff Soma said the total needed was $605,000. WRAD has donated $600,000.
