Eleven senior students will participate in the six kilometre obstacle course, while four junior students have entered the three km children’s event.
Teacher Aidan Nicolson said the students’ family and friends were sponsoring them to complete the December 2 challenge.
Money raised will help to build a playground at the site of the proposed new school on Wollaston Road.
“One of the students didn’t want to get muddy but when he heard it was for the new school he signed up straight away,” Mr Nicolson said.
He said one student had filled one sponsorship form already and took more forms home to get extra pledges.
Tower Hill Challenge organiser Alistair McCosh said they waived the entry fee for the two groups and it was great to see them excited about participating in the community event.
