Vice president Karen Jackson said the group would be baking scones in the CWA tearooms at the show which begins on Friday.
She said entry prices remained affordable and there would be a dedicated kids’ space with story time on Friday, craft workshops, a juggler and a planting session.
There will be a pop-up garden, animal nursery, sideshows, rides showbags and fireworks on Saturday night. Agriculture, horses, arts and craft and cookery exhibits will also be popular. “We encourage everyone to come along for a great family day out, Mrs Jackson said. “I’m really excited. I love the show.”
There will be shearing competitions, a Maori Hangi cooking demonstration where food is cooked using heated rocks and the inaugural home brew competition will also be held.
