Katharina Redford has joined the team as executive director of care services while Luise Grisdale is the new executive director of quality, safety, risk and information management.
Mrs Redford returns for her second stint at MHS, having served as aged care services manager from 2008-2011.
She has spent the past six years as Deputy CEO of South West Alliance of Rural Health.
Mrs Redford said is excited to be back at SWH.
“I really enjoyed it when I was here last time so it’s good to be back,” she said.
“There has been some great work done here over the last six years and hopefully I can play a small part in helping things continue in the right direction.
“I’m looking forward to help drive the strategy of care both at Port Fairy and Koroit.”
South African-born Ms Grisdale brings with her a wealth of experience to MHS.
Port Fairy is the latest posting in a career in health services that has seen her work in South Africa, the UK and for the last five years, Australia.
She arrived in Port Fairy last week and likes what she has found.
“I love it here, it’s a beautiful place,” Ms Grisdale said.
“I lived in a village similar to this in the UK. The people seem so invested in their health service, which you don’t get in bigger cities.
“Quality improvement is my passion and ensuring we deliver all the services we can to meet the needs of the population.
“In the past I have been in senior management roles, working with tenders and setting up new hospitals.
“I really want to see the strategic plans we put in place here at Moyne Health Services through to fruition.”
Ms Grisdale and Mrs Redford are joined on the MHS executive by Jackie Kelly (CEO), Leigh Parker (executive director of corporate services) and Dolly Gahlout (people and culture manager).
The executive joined members of the MHS board on a leadership retreat last weekend.
Ms Kelly said the weekend was used to discuss and develop a strategic plan.
This plan will comprise of eight statements and is expected to be released early next year.
Ms Kelly said feedback from an open day held earlier this month proved valuable.
“There was huge interest in the open day, from right across the community,” she said.
“We had a lot of interest in the gym, in aged care packages and what is happening at our Koroit campus.”
