The open day schedule will include information about 2018 course offerings and potential students speak to teachers, learn about the course structure and placements.
Visitors can enjoy a hands-on experience in everything from applying make-up and hair styling to safety tests for vehicles and gardening tips from the horticulture team.
There will also be free children’s activities, a market a feast of food offerings and live music.
SWTAFE chief Mark Fidge said the community-orientated event would give curious visitors a taste of what happened at a TAFE institution.
He said said TAFE wanted to be “closer to the community” and this new style of open day was the ideal way to make a broad connection.
“TAFE wants the community to know the important role it plays in education and for them to appreciate the amazing facilities that everyone has access to,” he said.
“There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained and this will be a great event, even if you don’t plan to study at SW TAFE.”
The open day is on from 10am to 2pm on Saturday at the Warrnambool campus.
