The former Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winner spent two months on America’s renowned World of Outlaws circuit.
Veal, who won the SRA season-opener at Avalon, will compete at Moama on Saturday and Allansford on November 4.
He will have his first drive for Western Australian powerhouse team Krikke Motorsports on December 9.
“There are a few things different here to America so we’re getting used to things – size of the tracks, wings and tyres play a massive part,” Veal said.
Veal said his US stint produced a mixed bag but provided lessons for his return in 2018. His best effort was a fourth-placed performance.
“It was a little up and down. We struggled at the start and by the end of it, we got where we needed to be,” he said.
“It was a testing year but every time we went out, we got better and better.”
Veal will race for Krikke in World Series Sprintcars, Australian title and Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.
He is hoping for more luck in the Grand Annual after problems wrecked his title defence in January.
“It’s the way it rolls; it’s the way the classic is with the way it’s formatted,” he said.
“All it took was one heat race and we went from fourth (in the A-Main) to in the B-Main. It’s the uniqueness of the classic, that’s why it’s such a big race.”
