The ‘Fletcher Jones: Stories from our Community’ won the Collaborative Community History Award at the Victorian Community History Awards run by the Royal Historical Society of Victoria in conjunction with the Public Records Office of Victoria.
Project coordinator Julie Eagles said it had distilled contributions from 650 people who had a connection with the factory, the Pleasant Hill factory site and Fletcher Jones into 200 stories under seven main themes.
Judges said the website was attractively presented, easy to navigate and immensely informative.
It is replete with images, animated stories and videos.
Ms Eagles said the extensive support for the project from individuals and community groups showed the strong connection that people had to Fletcher Jones’ heritage and the site.
