David Watt, 39, of Mount Napier Road, did not apply for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded until October 16.
EARLIER: A HAMILTON man will appear in Warrnambool court on Thursday after being charged with arson.
Detective Sergeant Mark James, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, said officers executed a search warrant at a Pilleau Street address in Coleraine on Wednesday morning.
The resident, a 39-year-old woman, and her 39-year-old boyfriend were arrested.
The man was found hiding under a table.
The woman was arrested, interviewed and charged with handling stolen goods, possessing drugs and possessing the proceeds of crime.
She appeared in the Hamilton Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was granted bail until October 4 with strict conditions.
"The boyfriend was also charged with a number of offences, including trafficking and possessing ice and cannabis, burglary and theft, arson, handling stolen goods, dealing with the proceeds of crime and bail offences," Detective Sergeant James said.
"He was remanded in custody overnight Wednesday to appear in the Warrnambool,Magistrates Court on Thursday for a bail/remand hearing."
Detective Sergeant James said the arson charge related to burning the woman's ex-boyfriend's Ford Fairlane in Coleraine on Thursday last week.
