Joe McLaren will give a sore elbow that’s been troubling him for a few weeks a proper rest, while luckless Tom Mugavin is out again with knee soreness.
But the losses have been offset by quality inclusions, with captain Isaac Templeton (concussion), Alex Pulling (calf) and former Blood Damian O’Connor (calf) coming back in.
“Everyone has been a bit sore and stiff, but if there’s any chance they could re-injure themselves or make an injury worse, we won’t play them,” Saints coach Chris McLaren said.
Terang Mortlake has just one change for the match, with young gun Harry Hobbs returning, while Will Kain (unavailable) is out.
North Warrnambool Eagles midfielder/forward Jarryd Lewis will miss Saturday’s clash with Warrnambool after copping a one-match suspension for striking, while Jye O’Brien will return to the under 18.5s and Ben Mugavin will miss with a minor adductor injury.
Jye Bidmade returns after being rested, while Louis Kew (concussion) and Tom James are also in.
Portland, which hosts South Warrnambool has lost some quality, with Ben Malcolm (knee), Rhys Egan (hamstring), Cooper Henson (unavailable) and Aaron Shepherd (Rebels) out.
Versatile youngster Ty Deans will make his debut for the Tigers, while Tyrendarra’s Pat Pekin is also set to play. Kyle Ansen and Toby Oakley will make their returns to the line-up.
Roosters coach Mathew Buck said his charges will strive hard for their first win at Hanlon Park. They bring back James Hussey (general soreness) Tom White and Brayden Beks.
