Trainer Dennis Beriman scratched the last start winner Bullywolfe from a restricted $60,000 race at Caulfield on Saturday, preferring for a home track run in an 1100 metre race.
Bullywolfe’s record over the distance and heavy ground at Warrnambool are outstanding which made Beriman’s decision an easy one.
“I’m quietly confident I pulled the right reign in scratching from Caulfield,” the veteran trainer said.
“He’s won three of his ten starts at the ‘Bool.
“He’s won two out of two starts over the 1100 metres and loves it heavy.
“The three kilogram claim for apprentice jockey Harry Grace brings him right into the race.”
Following 30 mls of rain for the week and 100 mls for July, Racing Victoria stewards have rated the track a heavy ten. The first race is at 12.30pm.
