The Liebig Street bargain hub first opened its doors to the public on August 1, 2016.
Volunteers at the former Collins bookstore, now pre-loved wonderland, are hoping Tuesday’s event will give them a chance to thank the community for its support.
“We live in a very generous community and we want to say a big thanks to them for their support,” volunteer Judy Coto said. “It’s been a wonderful year, far better than we ever anticipated.”
The success of the op shop is a cycle of continued giving, according to coordinator Wendy Crofts.
“We’ve grown so much we’ve overflowed into next door,” she said. “And we’ve been able to further support local groups like WDEA, the Toy Library and Operation Christmas Child.”
First birthday celebrations will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm and include half-priced clothing and sweet treats for all customers.
