A clearance was lodged and approved for the Brisbane Lions triple-premiership player on Tuesday.
It is believed Brown’s appearance will tie in with a promotion of one of his employers, Fox Footy.
While details around the potential appearance are yet to be finalised, Roosters president Andrew Hardiman said the club was working with Fox Footy.
“South Warrnambool has been fortunate to partner with Foxtel in the past for a kids day out and sportsman night back in February,” Hardiman said.
“And again, we’re looking to work with them around the Jonathan Brown ‘homecoming’ promotion.
“This could be a fun exhibition game for our local football followers.”
Brown, who played his junior football with South Warrnambool, has maintained strong ties to the region and coached the Hampden interleague team for the AFL Victoria Community Championships in May.
