Forth attributed Collegians’ impressive early season form to the fact the young group was enjoying its netball.
She said it was vital for the Warriors to put the lure of finals to the back of their mind as they chased a triumph against Russells Creek on Saturday.
“We have a bit of a renewed focus on enjoying our netball,” Forth said.
“We started off the year having fun and winning games, probably thinking there wasn’t a lot of pressure
“We might have been caught up thinking about finals a bit, but we just have to get back to basics.”
Forth said the unity in her side was a genuine strength.
“I definitely feel like our strength is that we play for each other,” she said.
“We’re more than just a team of individuals.
“We’re a youthful group but we’re finding a common ground between the younger and more experienced players.
“The younger girls are learning really well. We’re teaching them how to be mentally strong as well as how to be confident in game play.”
Old Collegians hosts Russells Creek at Davidson Oval from 1.50pm on Saturday.
