A television news reporter has been racially vilified in Geelong while reporting on a violent home invasion in which a man was critically injured with a pole.

Channel Nine journalist Neary Ty posted a video of the racial abuse online on Wednesday.
"You see and hear a lot on the road while reporting, but I wasn't expecting this in Geelong today," she wrote.
In the footage, a man named by Channel Nine as Angus Waite, 53, approaches Ms Ty on the street and asks "what country do you come from?"
"I was born here," Ms Ty replies.
"Really?" Waite says. "Well you're not a f---ing Aussie are you? If you've got such a beautiful country, f--- off back there."
Ms Ty was reporting on a violent home invasion in Cleveland Court in Corio.
Two armed men broke into an apartment about 9.30pm on Tuesday, police said.
The offenders pushed a woman and struck Mr Waite with a pole before chasing a 36-year-old man out of the unit and bashing him with the pole.

The man was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition that was later downgraded to serious.
The offenders escaped in a car and remain at large.
A police spokeswoman said the investigation was ongoing.
There was a swift online response to Ms Ty's post as people condemned Mr Waite's racist attack.
"As a Geelong person through and through I'm very sorry this was your experience here. Disgusting," one man said on Twitter.
The member for Frankston, Paul Edbrooke said: "That is disgusting Neary. I'm sorry that you had to deal with that."
