Redland City Bulletin understands Ms Zelenak’s family lives at Ormiston and the 21-year-old attended Moreton Bay College.
The Go Fund Me page was set up on Monday by family friend Susie Fletcher, of Cleveland.
Ms Fletcher wrote on the page that the money raised would be used to get Ms Zelenak’s mother and father from Australia to London and accommodate them while they searched for their daughter.
“Every little bit will help in this tragic situation to bring Sara home,” she wrote.
At the time of publication, the page had raised $11,492 of the $15,000 goal.
Ms Zelenak was working as an au pair in London.
According to appeals by friends on social media, she was last seen on London Bridge at the time of the attacks.
She had been with a friend, Pri Goncalves, 26, when the two heard the white Renault van crash on the bridge.
Ms Goncalves has been reported as saying they got separated as they fled after the crash.
Seven people were killed in the terror attack on Saturday night.
A further 36 people are injured, 18 in a critical condition, after three terrorists mowed down pedestrians and launched a frenzied stabbing attack on people dining in the city’s Borough Market.
