Moyne Shire councillors voted to start the sale process on lots 12 and 21 in Shadwell Drive following private interest in one of the properties.
A report to the council confirmed “a letter of offer for the purchase of council-owned land at the Mortlake Industrial Estate” had been received.
“Given the imminent commencement of the Livestock Exchange Facility it appears good timing for the property to be offered for sale,” the report to council stated.
Councillors voted in favour of accepting submissions on the proposed sale and to distribute a public notice indicating the shire’s intention to sell the land.
Cr Ian Smith said it was “good to see people have confidence in Mortlake”.
