Irish-born jumps jockey Shane Jackson rides Gold Medals in the $125,000 Brierly Steeplechase on Tuesday.
Wilde said Gold Medals, who won the Terang Cup at his last run, had shown good form in jumping schools to get him ready for Tuesday's jumps feature.
“Gold Medals has an impressive record in hurdle races,” he said.
“I've always thought he would be a better steeplechaser. He seems to appreciate the bigger fences.
“He's had a hurdle school and two steeplechase schools to prepare him for the Brierly. We've also accepted with him for the Warrnambool Cup but that's only a precaution if something happened regarding the Brierly.”
Wilde, who trained five winners at last year's carnival, has numerous runners.
