Aaron Mitchem, 32, of Cramer Street, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool court to a wide range of serious driving offences.
He has already spent 64 days in custody.
Early on February 20 police on patrol noticed a vehicle travelling in Hopetoun Road.
The vehicle accelerated to an estimated 120km/h in a 60 km/h zone, turned right at Daltons Road and police terminated the pursuit due to the danger to other road users.
A witness described the car as driving "at a million miles per hour".
The vehicle was located soon after near the intersection of Daltons Road and Bromfield Street in gear and Mitchem was seen running in a paddock.
He was chased and arrested and a search found he was carrying prescription drugs.
Mitchem was wanted on four warrants.
That led to a guilty plea on charges including reckless conduct endangering life, driving while disqualified, dangerous driving while pursued by police, careless driving, offences of dishonesty, and failing to appear in court.
He has significant prior court appearances and has served jail terms.
Magistrate Cynthia Toose said Mitchem had an extremely reckless and cavalier attitude to driving, which put all other road users at risk.
Mitchem was also put on another 12-month community corrections order. The magistrate said Mitchem was not past rehabilitation for his substance abuse and mental health issues.
He was jailed mid last year for two months after a drunk driving episode which involved sideswiping cars and crashing into a Moyne Health Services bus filled with elderly citizens in Koroit.
