Forklifts, Girls & Time Alone was recorded in an off-the-grid farmhouse and is available on iTunes and Spotify.
It will be officially launched at The Catfish in Fitzroy on June 9, with local launches expected to follow.
The EP, released under the name Bill, features seven tracks that match alt-country grooves and twang with soulful singer-songwriter sentiments and classic rock ‘n’ roll sounds.
It was produced by Sons Of May drummer Harry Pettit, who also plays on the EP.
O’Connell has previously recorded two EPs with Kashmere Club, including one produced by The Living End’s Chris Cheney, and two EPs under the name Gums with Jono Colliver (Dr Colossus, Vance Joy).
He scored triple j airplay a few years ago with his solo track Millionaires, as well as with songs by Gums and Kashmere Club.
